Haiti Earthquake October 28th, 2011

Post-earthquake life in the middle of Port Au Prince, Haiti. Many thanks to Gemini and Zizi, for showing me around, but mostly for keeping me safe. Haiti was by far the most unstable and devastated place I’ve been to. Despite no clear solution for many woes, there are always ambitious individuals filled with hope. The future is in your hands.

Zoetica and I ventured through an old, historic building in the Jewelry District of Downtown Los Angeles with a bottomless sack of shoes in tow.

Despite the building being in the heart of urban sprawl surrounded by a sizable homeless population, the innards are a surreal time capsule that lay mostly untouched by humans for decades. The stillness inside is only interrupted by startled birds that love to scare the shit out of hapless adventure seekers.

Suicidegirls.com (NSFW) is a bustling, award-winning, sex-positive online community with over 5 million unique visitors a month, hundreds of thousands of subscribers, successful books and DVDs in stores, TV and movie foryays (CSI, G4TV, etc), and interviews with everyone from Natalie Portman to Marilyn Manson. For over 3 years, our team took the website though many expansions and refinements. I was responsible for brainstorming new features, mocking up interface designs, creating polished assets/layouts, and finally, coding the markup for the backend developers.
